LAGOON!!!

We got to take our boys to Lagoon this last weekend with the entire Lytle Family!!!. It was so much fun. We didn't get enough pictures, but here are a few cute ones.

Royce was on Puff the Dragon too, but you just can't see that little guy. I love this ride so much because I remember going on it as a little kid and making my dad go over and over and over again. He still says that every time we go.
I wish I would have thought to take more pics, but I guess we just forgot while we were having so much fun. Royce loved the little train that goes around the lake. He was pretty much in heaven while riding that We went on it several times and saw all of the wonderful animals in horrendous cages!

Why We Don't Post Anything

There is a reason why I never have time to post anything and my backdrop is lame and it never has changed. The first reason is my little 2 year old Royce. Here he is, way after his bedtime sleeping on the floor. It would be nice if he were actually asleep, but no. He made up his bed on the floor to be closer to his brother in the crib and neither of them are asleep!!!
Another reason why I don't post enough. Here is a project that my wonderful mom helped me to finish before Alex was born. I didn't take a before picture, but here is the great after. We completely reupholstered these kitchen chairs from green to the now much more pleasing flowers. It was a lot of work and I will say I wouldn't have been able to do it without my mom!

And another reason why I never post anything is Alex's beautiful smile. And to keep him smiling I work around the clock to feed him. I feel like newborns are always hungry. And I think, didn't I just feed him?

But he is happy and that is I guess what matters.

Now, another reason why I never have time to post anything is snow. As soon as it is snowing, we drop everything and go outside. But it takes time to go outside. We have to get the snow suit, we need the snow gloves, the snow hat and the snow socks and the snow shoes. If any of those are missing, which they usually are, we have to find them, because little boys will ask and ask about them if they don't have the proper things. Then we get out in the snow and little Royce realizes that it is really cold and we play for a few minutes, until he gets snow up his sleeve or in his glove and then we march inside. And I hurry to take everything off so that we don't soak the floors as we go. And then it is time to hang it all and dry it all for later that day when we decide it is time to play in the snow again. How we all love the snow.

Here we have our cousin Tomi over. She likes to poke at baby Alex's eyes and see if she can do it before we catch her. What a clever little girl..
 There she goes.
Another reason why I never have time to post anything is that Royce likes to help mom do everything. I don't know why, but he seems to still really like house work. I guess that I should continue to encourage this, but it is really painful for me. I have to watch him make a huge mess out of almost everything including my sacred yellow cleaning gloves. But I won't complain if he continues when he actually can clean something.
And then there are the moments that you just don't need to spend on the computer because you have such a sweet little face to look at and that little face smiles right back.
Here that sweet little face is pushing himself in his swing. He will push himself off with his feet. He usually uses dad or mom legs to get himself going. He also will get  a little upset if you stop him or move to where he can't use you to propel his swing! It is amazing what they can learn in just a few months.
And the puppy-dog face to keep you playing with him.
This is Alex's little play pen thing-a mabob-er-doodle. And I am sure that Royce plays in it a whole lot more than Alex ever will. Little Lex doesn't even have a chance most of the time. Royce is always pushing him away and keeps it for himself. Alex is such a good baby that he just watches Royce. One day, Alex will get his moment.
Our first shots with Dr. George Booth at 2 months. Never a fun experience. This is about the time that we get the motrin out.
And once again, Royce never wants us to think that he has been replaced. He is always moving into the baby things. And always finds a way to get onto mom's radar.

These are some of Alex's first smiles!!! What a beautiful day when your little one looks up at you soooo happily! I look forward to the first smile so much and then I can never get enough.

This is an early Saturday morning. Other mornings, dad is already gone to work and mom is the entertainment. But today we are just in our pajamas and letting yummy waffles settle for a while. I love these green pajamas of his, they have little Frogs on the feet.
Royce with his new wheelbarrow. Like I said about his work ethic, if we get Royce the correct tools he may be a great little worker. He just needs a little bit more muscle, then he could finish pulling all these weeds for us.

Taking a rest. Little hand shovels can really make you tired! Phew.

Busy, busy, busy.
This is my little Mister Alex right after a bath. Bath time can be my favorite time of all. This may sound weird to some, but most moms will understand. First you get to look at their cute little naked bodies. And babies are so cute to look at. Then you get to watch Royce run about the house doing his naked dance! And you get to see them play, kick and squeal. You get to wash their little rolls and clean up their runny noses. The best part is once you take them out. You get to hold them in your lap or in front of the mirror and squeeze them. You pat them and rub down their little arms and legs to keep them from getting cold.

Here we have a unique Situation.

It took me many months after I had baby Alex in December to recover. We didn't notice it at first, because I was so so so sick. I think we just got used to the idea that I was not normal. Then I found out I had mastitis, and they put me on iron pills to increase my iron levels. Even after that, I now believe that it has taken me almost 6 or so months to get my energy up. I think some of that has to do with the fact that a new little guy like Alex never lets you sleep and then it takes that much longer for your body to heal.

When Alex was born, our outlook for jobs for Dallas was pretty dull . He had work, but we were in a pretty desperate situation. So him missing work to help me after I had Alex was out of the question. Then Dallas got this unique job offering. It would start in the middle of March and run through their tax season until the corporate tax return was finished in September. This was such a blessing for us. And they paid very, very well.

We were very anxious and excited for Dallas to begin his job since it was a hope in the right direction for us after he had been unemployed for almost a year. But the kicker to this was on his first day he had to call in because Grant Grow (Dallas' borther-inlaw) had passed away. This was very tragic for the entire family and Dallas felt that he should spend the week with his sister. So he had to call his brand new job and tell them that he might be in one day that week.

Right before the funeral, Royce got some kind of a bug and was throwing up. We had family coming (Marielle) and they got to stay at the sick house. We all ended up catching some kind of bug and were sick throwing up the entire weekend. Needless to say, it was a long weekend and a lousy trip for the Weaver Family. Dallas didn't catch this right away, no, his body waited until he had to return to work on Monday. So for the second week of work Dallas missed a bunch that week too.

But this picture reflects Dallas missing more work because after he was sick with the bug he got some kind of sinus infection. This also cause him to miss some work. But this was scary because we didn't know what it was and he was soooo dizzy that he couldn't work and sit or look at his screen even. We tried everything. And this is us trying to get extra ear wax out of his ear. Because when Dallas is desperate, he listens to his wife.

We did finally send him to a doc in the box for a bad sinus infection that still kept him dizzy even after he was on the antibiotic. What a month. It was pretty embarrassing for him to keep having to call in for all these things and he hadn't even worked an entire week!

Here we are playing with our best friend Hayden Black. Notice that they are pushing each other in a grocery cart...and yes it doesn't last upright that long. Someone is always crying
